Dodge is upping the power on its 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. The muscle car will deliver 707 horsepower, claiming to be the most powerful muscle car ever.

The Challenger Hellcat’s output and straight-line performance should be in the range of super and hypercars by Lamborghini and Ferrari, AutoWeek reported.

The car comes with two keyless ignition starters: a red one to unlock the full 707 horsepower potential and a black one for up to 500 horsepower, CNN Money reported.

The Challenger Hellcat has a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine, 650 pound-feet of torque and weighs more than 4,200 pounds.

Car and Driver compared the Hellcat with other recent muscle cars, pointing out that it has 45 more horsepower than the last Shelby Mustang GT500, 127 more horsepower than the last Camaro ZL1, and 67 more horsepower than the V-10 in the current Viper.

Pricing of the Challenger Hellcat will be announced later this summer and the car will be released to dealerships in the third quarter.

Twitter users reacted with enthusiasm.
