Chadwick Boseman’s Widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, is now the personal representative with limited authority of the late actor’s estate. Ledward filed a petition in October to be appointed administrator after Boseman died without a will and a court order obtained by People now shows she has been granted authority to administer Boseman's estate, which is valued at $938,500.
Ledward is required to file a $939,000 bond along with the final distribution of the estate by Feb. 22, 2021, according to the outlet.
Boseman and Ledward were engaged in October 2019 and secretly tied the knot at an unspecified date, his family revealed. The couple kept their relationship private, but were spotted in public several times. Rumors first emerged that they were an item after being snapped by photographers in 2015 at Los Angeles International Airport.
They turned heads at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards, when they made their first red carpet appearance together, but it was later that year at the 50th NAACP Image Awards when they really made an impact. In a moving speech upon receiving the outstanding actor in a motion picture award, Boseman declared his love for Ledward.
"Simone, you're with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you," he said.
The couple was last seen in public in February when they sat courtside at an NBA All-Star Game in Chicago. Boseman passed away months later, on Aug. 28 at age 43 after a four year battle with colon cancer. He did not speak publicly about the diagnosis and only a handful of friends and family members were aware of the illness.
