Minnesota Vikings linebacker and two-time Pro Bowler Chad Greenway helped save two people who were stuck on Lake Minnetonka on Monday.

KARE-TV happened to be shooting a story about the dangerous winds on the lake when Greenway got into the water and helped the couple who lost control of their boat, which was getting closer to a spillway.

"The waves are so big and the wind is so strong today that it pushed him right into the rocks, so we had to get him off the rocks, his prop cleared out of the rope, and get him turned in the right direction," Greenway, 31, told KARE-TV. “I just ran down, of course with my two little girls following behind me, trying to stay out of the way, and I figured I'd help them out. It looked like it was dangerous."
Crystal and Edward Alexis had reportedly just bought the boat on Sunday and were looking at houses on the lake when the boat started going in circles.
While they were grateful for Greenway’s help, Edward Alexis jokingly admitted he wasn’t necessarily a Vikings fan.
"I’m a Chicago Bear fan," he said, laughing. "I’m just keeping it real."
Greenway, who played at the University of Iowa, was picked by Minnesota in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft.
