Celine Dion Announces Paris Concert Comeback After Health Struggles

By    |   Tuesday, 31 March 2026 12:53 PM EDT

Singer Celine Dion will perform a series of 10 concerts in Paris later this year, marking her return to the stage after a rare neurological disorder forced her to step back from live performances.

The performances will take place in September and October, according to an announcement shared Monday on her social media platforms to coincide with her 58th birthday.

"This year, I'm getting the best birthday gift of my life," Dion said in a video posted to her Instagram account.

The concerts are expected to be held at Paris La Defense Arena, a 40,000-seat venue, as reported by Canadian outlet La Presse.

Public speculation about her return had intensified after posters referencing her songs appeared across Paris, along with images she shared of herself in the city.

In the video, Dion said she is "feeling good" and "strong" as she prepares to return to the stage.

"I'm feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I'm grateful to all of you," she said, telling fans "I love you all and I'll see you soon!"

Dion stepped back from touring in 2022 after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome.

She stayed optimistic while sharing the news, saying, "While we're still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what's been causing all of the spasms that I've been having," according to CNN.

"Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."

The diagnosis led to postponed European tour dates, followed by the cancellation of her "Courage World Tour" the following year.

Her most recent music release was the soundtrack for the 2023 film "Love Again," in which she also appeared.

Dion opened up about living with stiff person syndrome in a 2024 interview with Vogue France, saying that "nothing" was going to stop her.

"The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it's over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself," she said. "I've chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again.

"I have this strength within me. I know that nothing is going to stop me."

Commenting on her return to the stage, Dion said she was "working very hard" adding, "and tomorrow will be even harder. Tomorrow is another day."

"But there's one thing that will never stop, and that's the will," she said.
