Cate Blanchett dropped the F-bomb during a "Cinderella" press interview Wednesday in which the reporter asked the actress a series of totally off-topic questions.
Jonathan Hyla, a reporter for the Australian TV show "The Project," covered a wide range of topics, though none of them really had anything to do with Blanchett's role as the wicked stepmother in the new Disney flick. Among the best: "What should I have brought with me that would have helped break the ice here?" and "Why isn't the movie R-rated?"
But it was a question about a cat that seemingly sent Blanchett over the edge.
"Ok, serious question: How were you able to get that cat to do what you wanted to on a leash?" Hyla asks, referring to the Russian Blue feline seen in the movie. "I tried putting my girlfriend's cat on a leash and it just never works for me."
"That's your question?" Blanchett responds. "That's your question? That's your f***ing question?!"
Though some news outlets picked up the F-bomb exchange and sold it as a tense, angry moment, Hyla insists it was all in good fun.
Nonetheless, Hyla was still trashed by some for the tone of the interview.
"Cate Blanchett was happy to sit down and talk to television host Jonathan Hyla about her new film,
'Cinderella,' on Wednesday," The Huffington Post reported. "The problem? Her interviewer didn't seem to want to talk about anything relevant to the movie. After asking Blanchett about her drink of choice along with other off-topic questions, the actress attempted to steer the interview back to 'Cinderella.'"
Us Weekly correctly pointed out that it was Hyla who attempted to steer the conversation back to the movie with his, relevant — albeit silly — question about the cat.
