Rush Limbaugh: Cain Saga Propels Racially Charged Culture War

By    |   Monday, 07 November 2011 01:17 PM EST

The saga of sexual harassment allegations against Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has turned into a full-blown, racially charged culture war, Rush Limbaugh says.

And a news conference led by attorney Gloria Allred, who represents Cain’s fourth alleged harassment victim, “titillates” the media even more, the conservative talk host said on his radio show today.

“The way this story is shaking out, it’s only a matter of time before Gloria Allred showed up to make this circus complete,” he said.

Howard Kurtz’ Jonathan Martin of Politico, which broke the story eight days ago, on CNN during the weekend further proved that the original story shouldn’t have been published, Limbaugh said.

“Kurtz says to Jonathan Martin, of Politico, why publish the story about Cain when you couldn’t answer the central question, ‘What did he do?’ ” Limbaugh said.

Martin responded, “The first story might not have all the information that you want.”

“That is why we are where we are,” Limbaugh said, accusing the media of wanting to “destroy” and “stomp on” Cain.

“Where’s the NAALCP on this?” he said, referring to the fictional National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People. “If they were genuinely interested in the abuse of racism . . . against black guys, they’d be right in there defending Herman Cain.”
