A Buffalo spice latte is the newest flavored coffee introduced at Tim Hortons restaurants in New York, and the internet is doing a spit take.
The drink, which includes espresso, steamed milk, mocha, cream, sprinkles, and Buffalo seasoning is served hot or cold for a limited time at two locations in Buffalo and Depew, New York, USA Today reported.
"We decided to surprise our loyal guests by pairing our new handcrafted latte with the bold Buffalo flavor that’s so iconic to the region," Stephen Goldstein, regional president of Tim Hortons U.S. division said, according to USA Today. "The unlikely pairing comes together to create an unexpectedly delicious sweet and spicy treat."
The Canadian restaurant chain recently introduced new espresso machines at its Buffalo locations, the Buffalo News reported, adding that the new buffalo latte is "surprisingly drinkable."
Culinary trend expert Christine Couvelier told USA Today the product likely will raise awareness for Tim Hortons.
"The end result is that it will get people into stores and then they'll buy something else," she said.
Other latte flavors available at Tim Hortons include caramel, vanilla, mocha, and pumpkin spice, People magazine reported.
Twitter users reacted with horror, curiosity, and concern.
