California Gov. Jerry Brown's tax initiative appears unlikely to pass according to a recent poll, which found that only 46 percent of voters support the measure.
The
USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll found that support for Proposition 30 had fallen nine percent over the past month and was down most dramatically among voters with no party preference.
Favorability for the ballot measure among these voters declined from 63 percent a month ago to 48 percent, the Lost Angeles Times reported.
Proposition 30 would raise the state sales tax and income taxes on the wealthiest individuals while stopping $5.4 billion in automatic spending cuts to the state's education system.
