The late Brittany Murphy will be honored in a new two-hour biopic from the Lifetime channel titled "The Brittany Murphy Story," the network revealed Tuesday.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Amanda Fuller of the ABC series "Last Man Standing" and "Grey's Anatomy" will play Murphy, while Sherilyn Fenn of "Twin Peaks" will play her mother, Sharon Murphy.
It is unclear who will play Simon Monjack, Murphy's late husband, and there is no news as of yet on who penned the movie's script. Sharon Murphy said she had no hand in the authorization or making of the picture.

The movie will chronicle Murphy's life, beginning in the 1980s and 90s, when her mother was trying to find her acting work.
Murphy's breakout role would come in 1995, when she co-starred in "Clueless." She would go on to appear in "Girl, Interrupted," "Riding in Cars with Boys," and "8 Mile."
Murphy's life was cut short in December of 2009, when she died at the age of 32 from pneumonia. Her husband, Monjack, died five months later, also of pneumonia.
The movie will portray the fallout that occurred after their deaths, showing how Murphy's mother handled claims that her daughter's death was not accidental.
The biopic is expected to air on September 6.
