Britney Spears is speaking out after the release of the documentary that explores the pop icon's career while shining a light on her controversial conservatorship. "Framing Britney Spears" was released on Feb. 5 and although Britney has yet to comment on the film, she indirectly expressed her views on social media Tuesday.
Sharing a video of herself performing her hit single "Toxic" in front of a cheering audience on Twitter, Britney explained that she loved performing but was trying to find normalcy in her life.
"Can’t believe this performance of Toxic is from 3 years ago !!!" she tweeted. "I’ll always love being on stage .... but I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person ..... I love simply enjoying the basics of every day life !!!!"
Britney added that people's lives can be portrayed in a deceptive manner but that it was not their true narrative.
"Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!!" she continued. "We all have so many different bright beautiful lives!!! Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens!!!!"
"Framing Britney Spears" has sparked renewed interest in Britney's life and conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie, who has been overseeing her personal and financial affairs since 2008. The #FreeBritney movement has also gained momentum since the documentary's release and Jamie has since been taking heat from friends and fans. Among them is Britney's boyfriend, Sam Asghari, who claimed Jamie was trying to "control" their relationship.
"Now it's important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way," he wrote on his Instagram Story. "In my opinion, Jamie is a total d---. I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom."
