Britney Spears has decided not to watch The New York Times' documentary "Framing Britney Spears," which takes a closer look at her career highlights and lowlights as well as her controversial conservatorship and the emergence of the fan-driven #FreeBritney movement as a result.

The film has caused a sensation since it dropped Friday on FX and Hulu but as of Sunday, Spears has still not seen it despite being aware of its release, a source revealed to Page Six.

"She’s chosen not to watch it because she’s fed up with the conservatorship," the insider said. "She feels there is a hole missing in her life because of the conservatorship and that she won’t be able to live a normal life until that’s over. She knows it’s a battle for her whole life."

Dozens of celebrities have come out in support of Spears following the release of the documentary. Among them were Sarah Jessica Parker, Andy Cohen, Miley Cyrus, and actress Valerie Bertinelli, who said "Framing Britney Spears" was "a gut punch," in a tweet.

"So many horrible men/leeches in her life," Bertinelli added, listing several figures in Spears' life, including her father Jamie and ex Justin Timberlake, who has been slammed on social media for his past treatment of the "Toxic" singer.

Part of the documentary focuses on their relationship, which lasted from 1998 to 2002, and the aftermath of their breakup following reports that Spears had cheated on Timberlake. The former NSYNC band member is being accused of fueling the rumors after the release of the video for his single "Cry Me a River" in which he catches a woman who closely resembles Spears cheating on him.

Britney's father took control of the pop icon's estate in 2008 after she suffered a meltdown and was admitted into a psychiatric hospital for several days. They have been locked in a legal battle as Britney fights to regain ownership of her personal and financial affairs but in November, a judge declined her request to remove Jamie as sole conservator. Her conservatorship was extended until February this year.
