Bristol Palin Defends Second Out-of-Wedlock Pregnancy to Detractors

By    |   Monday, 29 June 2015 09:12 AM EDT

Bristol Palin lashed out at her detractors on Sunday with a somewhat confusing blog post about her second out-of-wedlock pregnancy, but implied the father might be her ex-fiance.

"I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a**holes have loved to assume," wrote the daughter of ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on her Patheos.com blog. "This pregnancy was actually planned."

"Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself," she explains further. "Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on."

Palin's wedding to 26-year-old former Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer was canceled in May. The cancellation came shortly after news broke that Meyer had been briefly married as a teenager, but it remains unclear if that had anything to do with the split.

Palin's latest blog post seems to suggest that her new pregnancy, announced on Thursday, could have been planned by her and Meyer before the wedding was called off.

In the blog post, Palin, 24, clarified for her detractors that her present circumstances are "not the ideal situation" but have reaffirmed her commitment to a pro-life, anti-abortion stance.

"I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now. Deal with it," she wrote.
