Brad Paisley's tour stop in Kansas wouldn't be complete without the Westboro Baptist Church, who came out to protest his concert, prompting him to take a mocking selfie with the group.
The protestors — famous for picketing the funeral of gay hate-crime victim Matthew Shepard, solider funerals, and more — gathered at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater carrying signs that read "Sin Breeds Violence" and "God Hates Drunks,"

Clearly annoyed, Paisley hatched a plan with his friend, which he documented with a video posted to his Instagram account.
Once outside, he approached the horde, made a face indicating his irritation, turned his back and snapped a selfie. His friend, in turn, documented the selfie for good measure.
According to The Huffington Post, Paisley is not the first country star to encounter members of the church mid-protest.
"[Jesus said] a lot of stuff about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that," Vince Gill told a Westboro member last September.
The group's leader, Fred Phelps, famous for his vitriolic "God Hates F**s" campaign, died in March at the age of 84, but his congregation continues his legacy by continuing to protest.
After the incident, the group posted a video of the encounter to their Twitter account, saying, "He mighta been mocking but he was certainly polite!"
