Boy George announced Tuesday that he and his band Culture Club will be touring in the U.S. over the summer with the B-52s and Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins.
The tour will start June 29 in St. Augustine, Florida, and end Oct. 5 in Fresno, California. More than 40 dates will be played, Rolling Stone reported.
Boy George said the tour will feature new music he's been working on with Culture Club as well as favorites such as “Karma Chameleon” and “Miss Me Blind,” Rolling Stone said.
The singer has had several solo stints since Culture Club’s introduction in the 1980s, but the group reunited in 2015 for a tour and a new album, “Tribes.”
“I just want to release the album so it will get heard,” Boy George told Billboard in 2015, explaining that he was trying to build a platform and social media presence.
“I have other things in the pipeline and it would be smarter for us to put the record out when I have a social presence rather than relying on a little bit of nostalgia and the goodwill of the press and sporadic radio play,” he continued.
More dates may be added to the tour later, Boy George’s website said. George also has a new record label BGP (Boy George Presents).
Culture Club has sold more than 150 million albums and singles worldwide, according to Broadway World. In the 1980s, the band was the first to be multi-racial and have an openly gay front man, and was the first band since The Beatles to have three top 10 hits in America from a debut album.
