A Champions League soccer match was postponed after explosions near the Borussia Dortmund team bus as it traveled to the match Tuesday injured one team player.

Spanish player Marc Bartra was injured as a result of the explosions, which happened around 7 p.m. as the bus was driving to the Westfalenstadion. He was taken to the hospital with an injury to his hand, according to BBC News.

Fans had already begun to enter the stadium for the 8:45 p.m. local time match between the German Borussia Dortmund team and Monaco on Tuesday, but police said there was no threat to the stadium or the fans, USA Today reported. The match was postponed until 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are investigating but have not yet identified any clear cause of the explosions, the BBC reported.

The bus was damaged in two places, and the team was shaken, ESPN FC reported. The team’s current location is not being shared for security reasons.

At least one Twitter user wanted to link the incident with recent immigrant-driven terrorist activities, although no official statements to that effect have been made.

Others showed their solidarity with the team and implored the perpetrators not to go after innocent players and fans.
