Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are officially married.
The couple tied the knot over the weekend in an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, where he reportedly built a chapel with the intention of marrying Stefani, Page Six reported. Photos made available by the outlet show guests arriving at the ranch, where several tables and chairs were set up under white umbrellas in the garden. The images also show the chapel decorated with white flowers.
The news comes days after it emerged that Shelton and Stefani received their marriage license in Oklahoma and three weeks after Stefani led fans to believe she and Shelton were already husband and wife after flashing what appeared to be a wedding band on her ring finger. Fuelling speculation, Stefani then posted a photo of herself drinking wine and holding a present on Instagram. The words “SHE’S GETTING MARRIIIEEEED” appeared at the top of the image.
Shelton and Stefani got to know each other when they appeared as vocal coaches on the set of 2014's "The Voice." They began dating the following year, after both their marriages came to an end. At the time, Shelton was going through a split with his second wife, Miranda Lambert, and Stefani was parting ways with Gavin Rossdale. They announced their engagement in October last year.
"You just don't see things that are right around the corner after such, like, devastation," Stefani said in an interview with Today of how things between her and Shelton developed. She explained that there was "a lot to consider" when they were making the decision to get married.
"There's so many people involved. [My] children and their hearts, everybody in my family, his family, we all went through a lot together," she said.
"I think in a romantic way when you fall in love, like so hard and so unexpectedly and so late in your life, you're like, 'I want to marry you, now!'" Stefani added. "That's the first romantic reaction, like, 'Let's get married.'"
