Blake Painter, who starred on "Deadliest Catch" in 2006 and 2007, was found dead in his Oregon home on Friday after a friend hadn't heard from him in a few days and called police.
It was determined by authorities that Painter had been dead for several days when the body was found, TMZ reported. Prescription pills and other substances were found in the home and will be tested by authorities.
Police do not suspect foul play in Painter's death; an autopsy and toxicology test will be done to determine the official cause of death, TMZ reported.
Painter captained the F/V/ Maverick on Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" during seasons two and three, TMZ reported. He reportedly quit in the middle of season three after a few episodes.
The reality show chronicles the adventures of Alaskan crab fishermen and has been on the air since 2005, Fox News reported.
Another boat captain, Sig Hansen, pleaded guilty recently to spitting on an Uber driver in 2017, Fox News reported. Hansen, 52, was ordered not to drink or use drugs.
Fans on Twitter were dismayed by the news of Painter's death.
