A bottle of Big Mac Special Sauce is being auctioned off for charity in Australia, and the bids have reached nearly $18,000.
McDonalds announced the auction via Facebook on Sunday.
Mark Lollback, McDonald’s CMO in Australia, told UK reporters that he was proud the milestone could be reached in his country.
"Big Mac sauce is one of the most iconic McDonald’s ingredients and people often ask us where they can buy it, so we’re excited to be the first country in the world to offer tubs of Big Mac sauce to our customers," he said,
ABC News reported on Tuesday.
The Ebay Australia auction listing says that the 500ml bottle of Big Mac Special Sauce is 1 of just 200 being produced worldwide, and "won’t be sold in restaurants."
"For too long Big Mac Special Sauce has been trapped in a beautiful, delicious burger – now we’ve set it free!," reads another part of the listing. "So slide the mustard, mayo and tomato sauce to the back of the fridge – because everything tastes better when it tastes like the Big Mac . . . Cupcakes, ice cream, macaroni jewellery, fish oil capsules."
All of the money received for the auction will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
