Betty White just turned 98 today and she is as glam and jovial as she was 25 years ago when she made her first appearance on "The Golden Girls."

The veteran actress was spotted out and about by DailyMail.com Thursday, her birthday, and she looked as stylish as ever in a turquoise floral blouse, black heels, bold red lipstick and her token honey blonde hair.

It is the classic Betty White look that fans have grown to love over the years and it can all be traced back to 1939, when she made her first small-screen appearance weeks after graduating from high school.

Fast forward several years and White was pioneering television by helping produce the series, "Life with Elizabeth" in 1952. She went on to star in a number of TV shows but it is her roles in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Golden Girls" for which she is most revered.

More recently, White joined the cast of "Hot in Cleveland" and that same year, in 2010, became the oldest person to host Saturday Night Live.

She has won numerous awards including several Emmys and has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Television Academy Hall of Fame.

Speaking about her lengthy career, White said she had "no regrets at all" and considered herself to be "the luckiest old broad on two feet," according to New York Post.

White may be lucky in certain aspects of her life but unfortunately, luck did not grant her ultimate birthday present this year-- Robert Redford. As her no.1 celebrity crush, she told Parade she was hoping he would be her gift but alas, this did not manifest.

"I try every year," she told the news outlet. "But it never works."

Although Redford has not made an appearance yet in her life, there is always next time. White is full of vitality and as sharp as ever and the possibility has not yet been ruled out.

So, what is the secret to her longevity?

"The bottom line is, I’m blessed with good health. On top of that, I don’t go around thinking 'I better do this or I better do that.,'" she said. "I’m just Betty. I’m the same Betty that I’ve always been. Take it or leave it."
