A music video promoting "Better Call Saul," the upcoming "Breaking Bad" spinoff series starring everyone's favorite crooked lawyer, is generating buzz among legions of loyal fans and newcomers alike.
According to Slate, showrunners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan penned the lyrics for country veteran Junior Brown, who performs what feels like an extended TV commercial advertising Saul's legal services.
"He’ll fight for your rights when your back’s to the wall/ Stick it to the man/ Justice for all/ You better call Saul," he sings to an upbeat score written by show composer Dave Porter.
As The Wall Street Journal noted, the music video, released Sunday, offers little to no insight into the new show, so for now fans are left with the incredibly short teaser clip AMC released back in August. The series is expected to debut early next year.
Previously, Gould said in an interview that producers plan to use a "flexible timeline" to open up the possibility of bringing the Walter White character, played by Bryan Cranston, back to life.
"Better Call Saul" focuses on the life of Saul Goodman, White's quirky lawyer, before his "Breaking Bad" days. Bob Odenkirk, who played Goodman in the original series, will reprise his character.
Several fans took to social media to praise the music video, with many noting it's fun similarity to the "Negro y Azul: The Ballad of Heisenberg" music video from the original series.
