Former Disney star Bella Thorne revealed that she has earned $2 million in the week that she joined a social media platform dedicated to adult celebrities wanting to share posts that are too risqué for Instagram and Facebook.
The 22-year-old, who achieved fame in Disney’s "Shake It Up," joined OnlyFans on Aug. 19 and has been charging $20 a month to allow fans to view her feed, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Thorne admitted she is not sure what content to share to her followers, but according to the outlet, her page currently features several photos of her wearing bikinis and one of her suggestively eating a hotdog. The actress has turned to her fans for ideas. She recently ran a poll asking what they hoped to see on her page and some of the answers included tongue teasing, lingerie, booty, showering and twerking.
Thorne said the aim of her page is to become a place where she "can really just be more personal" with her fans. She is also using it as research for a new movie she is making with acclaimed director Sean Baker. Her earnings will go to charity and her production company.
Speaking about her forthcoming film, Thorne said by using OnlyFans, she hoped to gain a better understanding of the social media platform.
"It’s a feature we are researching as I’m living it currently," she said of the project. "What are the ins and outs? What does a platform like this do to its users? What’s the connective material between your life and your life inside the world of OnlyFans?... How can it change your life for the worse and the better? How far are you willing to go, and how far do you WANT to go? You can be me, or this talented girl from Montana, and OnlyFans could change your life — if you want it to, of course."
Thorne plans to act in the film, but it may still be a long time before it is released, according to an insider who said it was "very early in its development — in its infancy — and probably years away from turning into anything."
