Beatle déjà vu caused a stir on social media after John Lennon's son posted a selfie with Paul McCartney's son on Instagram on Tuesday, visually connecting two generations of rock and roll.
Sean Ono Lennon, the son of Yoko Ono and the late John Lennon, simply used the caption "Peekaboo" for his photo with James McCartney, the son of Paul McCartney and the late Linda McCartney, CNN reported.
The elder Lennon and McCartney were the nucleus and primary songwriters of the one of the most successful musical groups of all-time, leading the so-called "British Invasion" of rock and roll music to the United States in the 1960s, said their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame biography.
From "I Want To Hold Your Hand" to "Let It Be," the band continued its success until personal squabbling and business acrimony led to the band's breakup in 1970.
Sean Lennon and James McCartney, both bearing a strong resemblances to their famous fathers, were all smiles in the Instagram photo that fans went crazy for, leading to more than 1,490 comments and 35,000 likes on Instagram.
"Wow. Love this," said Dane Stevens on Instagram. "Your fathers are legends. Maybe you two should take that walk down Abbey Road too! Blessed be guys!!"
"You two are so handsome just like (your) fathers.....Keep smiling," wrote one Instagram commenter.
"Can't explain how much I love this," said another poster on Instagram.
This is not the first time the younger Lennon was seen hanging out with kids of his father's former bandmates.
CBS News reported that Lennon also took a photo with Dhani Harrison, son of late Beatle George Harrison, last week.
CNN said last year Lennon was photographed with James McCartney's sister Stella at her pre-fall fashion show in New York City.
Sean Lennon, like his half-brother Julian Lennon, and his father, is also a musician. He released his first album "Into the Sun," in 1998, and has scored the music for the film "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead," according to Biography.com.
James McCartney also has followed his father's musical footsteps, playing on his father's 1997 album "Flaming Pie" and continues his career as a singer and songwriter, according to the website AllMusic.com.
