Apple's HomePod wireless speaker will officially launch next month.
The tech giant revealed that its latest design in home audio will hit shelves on Feb. 9 with pre-orders for the device opening this Friday, Jan. 26 to those in the U.S., U.K., and Australia.
The HomePod will sell at $349 and will be available to consumers in white and space gray, according to Engadget.
The device was unveiled last year and has been in development since 2012 as Apple's response to Amazon's Echo speaker, which had been widely criticized for its poor audio quality.
Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller, said people would be "blown away by the audio quality" and now, after much anticipation, the company is finally ready to reveal its creation to the world.
A key feature of the HomePod is its integration with Apple Music, which will link the device to a library of over 45 million songs.
The device can also be used in stereo with another HomePod, giving users the option of planting speakers all over their homes, Fortune noted.
But the HomePod is not just a speaker.
Through Apple's HomeKit service, the device can be used to control various functions from thermostats to lights.
Central to this, along with various other features of the HomePod, is Siri, Apple's virtual personal assistant, which can be asked to play music, control smart home gadgets, check the news, set reminders and other functions.
The 7-inch tall speaker was designed to use spatial awareness to sense its location in the room and then automatically adjust the audio accordingly, Apple said.
The HomePod features a woofer and a custom array of seven beam-forming tweeters as well as six microphones so that you can call on Siri without having to turn the volume down.
