"Breakfast Club" star Anthony Michael Hall has apologized for flipping off hotel guests and telling them to "kiss my [bleeping bleep]."
In a statement, the 52-year-old actor said he was "deeply sorry" for the "misunderstanding and miscommunication" that arose at the poolside of an Austin, Texas, hotel Wednesday.
Hall was reportedly blasting music and swearing in front of children when he was approached by a patron who asked him to tone down his behavior, according to TMZ.
In video of the incident, Hall is seen repeatedly flipping the guests off while telling them to "kiss my [bleep]" He also refers to one of the patrons as Rosie O'Donnel and splashes water at a woman filming his outburst. He was reportedly escorted from the pool area by hotel security.
"As a result of a misunderstanding and miscommunication between myself and some hotel guests, the situation needlessly and regrettably escalated," Hall said in a statement, according to TMZ. "I am deeply sorry for my words and actions and ask for forgiveness from anyone who I may have offended."
This is not the first time Hall has had an angry outburst. In 2017 he was convicted of assaulting his neighbor the previous year during an argument in which he pushed the man to the ground, causing him to break his wrist, The Hollywood Reporter noted at the time. Hall pleaded no contest and was sentenced to three years' probation.
