The toxicology report on Anthony Bourdain has revealed he had no narcotics in his body when he committed suicide by hanging earlier this month.
An official in France where Bourdain died told The New York Times there was only a trace of a non-narcotic medication in a "therapeutic dose."
The celebrated chef, author, and TV show host was 61 when he was found dead in a hotel bathroom in Kraysersberg, France, on June 8. He had been filming in the village for his CNN show “Parts Unknown.”
Police ruled it a suicide, but shocked fans worldwide wondered if an investigation would find any evidence of the contrary.
Bourdain's remains have been cremated and given to his younger and only brother Christopher. The family may have a private ceremony, according to his mother, Gladys Bourdain, who said, “He would want as little fuss as possible,” the NYT reported.
His mother plans to have “Tony” tattooed on the inside of her wrist, even though she didn’t like Bourdain’s tattoos of his journeys throughout the world, the newspaper reported.
Bourdain is survived by his girlfriend, Asia Argento, and a daughter, Ariane, 11, from his marriage to Ottavia Busia.
