R&B Singer Ann Marie has been arrested in connection with a hotel shooting.
The incident took placev Dec. 1 at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, according to a police report obtained by TMZ on Monday. Officers responding to a shots fired call arrived at the scene to discover Ann Marie's friend, Jonathan Wright, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. The bullet reportedly entered the center of his forehead and exited his left temple area.
Wright was semi-conscious and responsive but had lost a lot of blood and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Ann Marie alleged a gun went off after it fell off a table in the hotel room. The bullet struck Wright. Ann Marie was reportedly hysterical and had to be removed from the room where the shooting happened, CBS46 reported. According to the report, she kept asking whether Wright was dead. She told officers they were childhood friends and were visiting Atlanta from Chicago.
Ann Marie was booked for possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The singer is best known for her single "Secret," featuring YK Osiris. Born in Englewood, a neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Ann Marie grew up idolizing artists like Aaliyah, who inspired her own music.
