Angelina Jolie was involved in a one-car accident over the weekend on her way home from a screening of her film "Unbroken," but luckily the actress-turned-director was uninjured.

According to X17.com, the Academy Award winner was returning home from Beverly Hills when the driver of her black SUV reportedly lost control of the vehicle on wet pavement.

"The car slammed into the curb at a significant speed," a source told the gossip website. "Angelina must have wondered if they hit another car. It was pretty bad — the tire exploded and it's amazing nothing worse happened to the car. I wouldn't be surprised if she has whiplash."

Another car service vehicle picked Jolie up and brought her home, X17.com noted.

Jolie's "Unbroken" has received raved reviews from the Screen Actors Guild Nominating Committee, Variety reported over the weekend.

"SAG is generally a warm audience, and the star presence of Jolie certainly fueled the excitement," Variety wrote. "But a standing ovation was afforded not only to Jolie but to star [Jack] O'Connell, who was clearly caught off-guard."

Many say that "Unbroken" could earn Jolie a Best Director Oscar nod.

"While the film is a true crowd pleaser, odds are it will also play well with Academy voters," according to Variety. "[Roger] Deakins, who has never won an Oscar [for cinematography] despite 11 nominations, could win for his gorgeous work here, which includes stunning aerial shots of fighter planes and a long sequence set at sea. He will face tough competition from this year's winner, Emmanuel Lubezki, who did impressive work on 'Birdman.'"

Pete Hammond, of Deadline Hollywood, wrote that Jolie's effort to make a quality film about the life of Louis Zamperini was achieved despite the stiff competition it will face in the Oscar race.

"Angelina Jolie had one key goal, I believe, in bringing 'Unbroken' to the screen, and that was to right by the remarkable life of Louis Zamperini," Hammond wrote. "This was clearly evident as the film got its local sendoff Sunday afternoon with multiple screenings for guild and Oscar voters as well as the pundit crowd, which couldn't wait to jump on Twitter to give an instant verdict on the film's Oscar chances."
