Andrea Sneiderman, the Georgia woman convicted of lying to police in connection to her husband's 2010 murder, has been released from prison.

Sneiderman, 38, was sentenced to five years — minus a year for time served — in August after she was found guilty on nine of 13 charges, including perjury, making false statements, concealment of material facts, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal, among others, CBS News reported.

Prosecutors said Sneiderman lied to police after her husband, Rusty, was gunned down in front of a Dunwoody, Georgia, pre-school where he had just dropped off the couple's son in November 2010. Once a suspect in the murder, she reportedly denied a romantic relationship with her boss, Hemy Neuman, who was later convicted of the killing.

Neuman, who was found during the trial to be mentally ill, is currently serving a life sentence.

"One of my greatest regrets will be allowing this predator [Neuman] into my life and not being stronger for dispelling his advances sooner," Sneiderman said at her sentencing hearing last August.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Sneiderman was released to family members around 12:20 a.m. Monday.

"We are delighted that she's home and we are vigorously pursuing her appeal," Brian Steel, Sneiderman's attorney, told reporters.

Sneiderman will remain on parole until August 2017 and, because she was convicted under the First Offender Act, her felony charges will be expunged as long as she doesn’t commit another crime before her sentencing is up, according to the Journal-Constitution.
