Comedian and actress Amy Schumer married her chef boyfriend Chris Fischer in a surprise ceremony on Tuesday.
Schumer and Fischer married unexpectedly in Malibu after sending casual invites by text the Sunday before the nuptials, and about 80 people showed up to see them exchange vows, including Hollywood celebs Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Anniston, Larry David, David Spade, and Jake Gyllenhaal, Us Weekly reported.
The wedding was officiated by a comedian and the couple read their own vows, Us Weekly said. No photos were allowed to be taken by guests.
Schumer posted a photo on Instagram Thursday to confirm the nuptials with the caption “Yup.”
Fischer and Schumer had been romantically linked since November when they were photographed having dinner together, but they had only confirmed their relationship on social media days before the wedding took place when Schumer posted an Instagram photo of the couple kissing in a photo booth at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th birthday party on Feb. 11.
Fischer wrote the famous “Beetlebung Farm Cookbook” and lives on Beetlebung Farm in Martha’s Vineyard, where he owns a restaurant, Beach Plum, that was reported to be a favorite of Barack and Michelle Obama, according to People.
“His vows were stunning,” Schumer’s close friend Jennifer Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight after news of the ceremony broke Thursday. “It was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing time. I couldn’t be happier for them.”
