Amber Alert: Houston Toddler Found Safe, But Both Parents Are Dead

By    |   Tuesday, 30 Dec 2014 07:14 PM

A 14-month-old Houston boy was found safe in Arkansas and an Amber Alert was canceled after the toddler’s mother and father were found dead.

Tyemetheus Pack's mother, Angel Jackson, was found dead in her apartment Tuesday morning, prompting the Amber Alert, KHOU-TV reported. The boy’s father, Tumetheus Levastavian Pack, a person of interest in the case, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a vehicle in Arkansas, the station said. Tyemetheus, two other children, and a woman were found safe in the vehicle.

Jackson had sent a text on Christmas Eve saying that she had been shot, NBC News reported.

Investigators are trying to piece together the details of what happened.

KPRC-TV said co-workers at a local Dollar Tree asked police to perform a welfare check after Jackson didn’t arrive for work. Other reports said a maintenance worker at the apartment complex called police for a welfare check.

Jackson had been living at the apartment for about a month, and Pack was said to be staying with her for the past few days, the station reported. Jackson had another child who had been staying with his biological father and is safe, KPRC-TV said.

The Houston Police Department posted an update to the Amber Alert on its Facebook Page on Tuesday.
