Amazon finished up its annual Prime Day sale with more than 100 million products purchased at discount prices around the globe in what was officially the company’s biggest shopping event in its history, Business Insider reported.
The 36-hour sale got off to a rocky start at 3 p.m. Monday, with Amazon experiencing technical glitches on its website and app, along with some workers going on strike, but the e-commerce giant smoothed things out and the rest of the massive event apparently went profitably.
The most popular products purchased this Prime Day were the Echo Dot and the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Amazon reported.
Here are 10 other Amazon Prime Day top sellers:
1. LifeStraw Personal Water Filters: More than with 150,000 were purchased in the U.S.
2. PlayStation 4: The pro 1TB console with bonus Fortnite content was a top seller in Australia, along with FIFA 18 for PlayStation 4.
3. Instant Pot 6 Qt 7-in-1 Multi Use: More than 300,000 of those were purchased in the U.S.
4. Philips Sonicare Healthy White HX6730: This toothbrush was a popular product in China.
5. Ring Video Doorbell Pro: The device sold out.
6. Toshiba 4K Ultra HD Fire TV Edition: The 50-inch and 43-inch TVs are now the best-selling TV deals in U.S. history, together selling over six times as many TVs compared to last year's record-setting Fire TV Edition.
7. Amazon Cloud Cam: The security camera was the best-selling camera deal in Amazon history.
8. SAVAS Whey Protein 100 cocoa flavor: This diet supplement sold well in Japan.
9. Redmi Y2 Gold 32 GB: In India, this smartphone was a top seller.
10. 23 and Me DNA Test: This was one of the more popular items sold in the U.S.
Earlier this year, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said there were more than 100 million people around the world who were Amazon Prime members, Digital Trends reported.
While benefits vary around the world, common perks of the subscription service include free access to online movies and TV shows, music, Kindle books, fast and free delivery, and even deals at Whole Foods.
