Amal Clooney, actor George Clooney's new wife, will bring her expertise as an international human rights attorney to Columbia Law School in New York this spring.
"It is an honor to be invited as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School alongside such a distinguished faculty and talented student pool,"
Clooney said in a prepared statement. "I look forward to getting to know the next generation of human rights advocates studying here."
Amal, née Alamuddin, married mister Clooney in September. The two hosted friends and family for a lavish wedding ceremony and reception in Venice, Italy.
Amal has a history of working with high profile clients, including WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. As a young law clerk, she worked for Sonia Sotomayor, who now sits on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Just a few hours after Columbia made the announcement,
People magazine spotted the Clooneys leaving Japanese restaurant Kappo Masa on the Upper East Side in New York City — where they had presumably celebrated her good news.
The couple are both working in New York at the moment, as George is currently filming a new movie here, "Money Monster."
