Alfie Curtis, best known for his portrayal of Dr. Evazan who intimidated Luke Skywalker in the original "Star Wars," died at 87, according to Comicbook.com.
Curtis's scene in Mos Eisley's Cantina is a fan favorite, when Skywalker, played my Mark Hamill in the 1977 film, accidentally bumps into Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan's partner in crime. That is when Dr. Evazan informs Skywalker that he's so dangerous that he has the death sentence on 12 systems, noted Comicbook.com.
Of course, things escalated leading to Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Alec Guinness, cutting off Baba's arm with his lightsaber in the first of many "Star War" amputations, noted Comicbook.com.
Hamill remembered Curtis in s Twitter post Tuesday.
Comicbook.com wrote that the characters made a brief appearance in 2016's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," when Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor have a brief encounter with Evazan and Baba on planet Jedha.
The Hollywood Reporter said Curtis also appeared in the movie "The Elephant Man" in 1980, the television series "Cribb" in 1980-81 and the 1986 TV miniseries "Lost Empires."
Some shared their condolences on Twitter.
