Alex Trebek secured a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records last week for most episodes of a game show hosted by the same presenter with a whopping 6,829 "Jeopardy!" airings.
Trebek, 73, began hosting the quiz show in 1984 and has given
more than 400,000 answers, according to Variety. The show is slated to enter its 31st season in September, and Trebek will serve as host at least until his contract is up in 2016.

"It's a fun show to do, and it's a quality program that I never have to apologize for when I meet people. So there are no downsides," he said in a video commemorating the honor. "I want to continue for a few more years. The good news is as long as I keep hosting the program, I stay ahead of whoever's in second place, and that makes me feel good."
Regis Philbin currently holds the world record for most hours of TV hosted with 17,000 hours, a figure that includes talk shows, local-interest programs, and the quiz show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."
Art Fleming was the first "Jeopardy!" host during the show's original run from 1964 to 1979, and Trebek took over when the game show relaunched in the 1980s.
