Alan Colmes, Fox News Contributor, Dies at 66

Alan Colmes, a liberal radio and television commentator and Fox News contributor, has died. He was 66.

Colmes appeared with Fox anchor Sean Hannity on the "Hannity and Colmes" show and hosted a radio show, "The Alan Colmes Show."

Fox News reported that Colmes died "after a brief illness," leaving behind his wife, Jocelyn Crowley.

His wife issued a statement, saying, "He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time."

His former co-host, Hannity, called Colmes "one of life's most decent, kind and wonderful people you'd ever want to meet," according to Fox News.

In late January, Colmes told listeners he would occasionally be absent from his work because of "medical issues," the Washington Examiner noted.

Friends and colleagues paid tribute to Colmes on Twitter.
