Air New Zealand released a new Hobbit-themed safety video on Wednesday to celebrate the upcoming release of the final movie in The Hobbit Trilogy, "The Battle of the Five Armies," this December.
According to MTV News, the 4-minute clip, titled "The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made," saw actor Elijah Wood and director Sir Peter Jackson return to New Zealand where much of the "Lord of the Rings" movies have been filmed.
Elves, orcs, dwarves, and other costumed actors also join actors Sylvester McCoy, who plays Radagast the Brown, Dean O’Gorman, who plays the dwarf Fíli, and special effects honcho Sir Richard Taylor, to give the safety pitch.
For all the international fans, Japanese baseball star Naoyuki Shimizu and Māori actor and director Taika Waititi also make cameos.
The narrative of the video features two hardcore LOTR nerds racing through the airport to make their flight. Once seated on the plane, they gaze over to find Elijah Wood himself seated next to them. They of course commence to freak out.
All of them are then transported to Middle Earth, where they hitch a ride on the back of a giant bird, do some bungee jumping to retrieve the precious ring, and end their journey back in The Shire.
"May your path always be guided by the light of the stars, and may the future bestow upon you all the happiness and adventure our Middle-earth has to offer," says Wood as he dons the ring.
