A sleeping Air Canada passenger was left on the plane, awaking alone in the cold and dark several hours after the aircraft landed, Newsweek reported on Sunday.
Tiffany Adams said she was on a 90-minuite flight from Quebec City to Toronto and was able to have an entire row to herself to lie down since the plane was only about one-fourth full.
She said she fell asleep less than halfway through the flight. After waking up bewildered, she tried to use her cell phone but the battery had died.
She then found a flashlight in the cockpit of the empty plane and managed to open the door near the flight attendant's seat.
NPR reported, however, that she was unable to leave the aircraft because, without a gangway, she was approximately 50 foot above the ground.
She used the flashlight to signal for help, and eventually someone driving a luggage cart noticed her and alerted authorities.
An Air Canada representative then helped her get back to her car so she could drive home.
Adams said that since the incident occurred earlier this month she has been anxious and terrified at night, not able to get much sleep.
Canada confirmed Adams' account to NPR.
Adams said the airlines has called her twice as part of their investigation into the incident.
