Actress Brigitte Nielsen is pregnant at 54, she announced on social media as she expects her fifth child and the first with her current husband, producer Mattia Dessi.
Nielsen, the Danish actress who starred in films "Rocky IV" and "Cobra" with ex-husband Sylvester Stallone, has also been a Playboy model featured in the magazine several times, the BBC News reported.
She showed off her baby bump on Instagram this week.
Nielsen, who has become more known for her reality television show stints of late, joins a number of celebrities who have having children later in life, the BBC said. The Daily Mail reported that the birthrate among women between 45 and 49, the oldest group that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tracks, increased by 0.1 percent between 2016 and 2017.
According to the CDC, the mean age for first births in the United States is 26.6 and had increased from 24.9 in 2000. Some 64 percent of women aged 15–24 with at least two biological children expected to have another child while only 25 percent of women aged 25–34 expected to and six percent of women 35–44.
Nielsen, who also starred in "Beverly Hill Cop 2" with Eddie Murphy, has definitely tread the reality show circuit.
She starred in VH1's "The Surreal Life" in 2004, where she developed a romantic relationship with rapper Flavor Flav.
She came in third in the United Kingdom's version of "Big Brother" in 2005 and in the U.S. appeared in "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in 2008, the BBC said.
Nielsen then appeared in Germany's "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2010 and won the German version of "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here," in 2012.
