Jon Voight has been accused of slapping actor Frank Whaley across the face while they were working together on the set of the crime drama "Ray Donovan." Whaley made the revelation on Monday night in wake of the launch of the Republican National Convention, which kicked off with a video narrated by his former co-star.
"F - - k Jon Voight. On ‘Ray Donovan’ he slapped me across the face in the middle of a scene because he couldn’t keep up, then denied doing it," the 57-year-old wrote in a tweet that included a photo of Voight smacking him across the face. "He forgot about the still photographer who was on set. Bottom line: Jon Voight is a major [bleep]. #RNCConvention2020."
In Voight's narrated video, the actor praised President Donald Trump as "a man who cares, a man who loves America and all Americans," according to The Hill. "We all know that it is easy to criticize. It takes a true leader to solve problems," Voight continued. "COVID-19. While others criticized without solutions, President Trump's swift action saved lives, and as leading Democrats want to keep businesses closed down, our president is leading a way for a full economic recovery."
During the video, Voight further criticized prominent Democrats.
"Politicians spun their deceptions and obstructed progress," he said as footage of Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), flashed across the screen.
The Republican National Convention takes place over four days and will culminate in Trump accepting the nomination for a second term from the White House. Typically, candidates only speak on the final night to accept their party nomination but this year, Trump plans to speak every night.
