Minneapolis police said six people were wounded in two likely gang-related shootings in downtown Minneapolis early Monday morning.
Authorities were investigating whether the shootings early Monday were connected, reported The Associated Press. Police arrested a suspect, but didn't yet know in which shooting the person may have been involved.
Police said two men suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds in a shooting about 1 a.m. outside the First Precinct police station. They were treated at Hennepin County Medical Center. A handgun was recovered in a nearby parking lot.
About 15 minutes later, less than a block away, police said three men and a male juvenile were shot and injured. Police said three of the four are expected to be OK. The fourth victim is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest.
In July, protesters blocked the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W in Minneapolis, the latest episode of unrest following the police killing of Philando Castile.
Some protesters stood in the middle of the freeway holding hands and waving signs, while others chanted from overpasses.
