Palin Receives Outpouring of Support

Sarah Palin received an outpouring of love and support after the birth of her son Trig, recently released emails show. Palin’s fifth child, Trig was born in 2008 with Down syndrome. The then-governor and her husband kept the news a secret from the public until after he was born.

But once Palin announced Trig’s birth and the fact that he had Down syndrome, support flooded in, reports the LA Times. 

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), who has a child with Down syndrome wrote encouraging words and offered to talk any time. Other less known names wrote to Palin telling of their positive experiences with family members and friends who had Down syndrome. She was also lauded by many pro-life groups for her approach to mothering.
