Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik on Thursday raised the irony to Newsmax TV of Gov. Andrew Cuomo announcing $18.5 million in state funds to battle MS-13 when he did not attend President Donald Trump's speech last year on federal efforts to destroy the violent street gang.

"I find it kind of ironic that the governor's talking about this now, when the president came to Long Island to talk about MS-13," Kerik, who oversaw the city's forces during the 9/11 attacks, told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman.
