A Reminder of How Close We Came

Friday, 15 December 2000 12:00 AM EST

Hundt, of course, was slightly upset that his longtime pal didn’t get the presidency. He’s blaming it all on the Supreme Court. "The Supreme Court is the one that decided that he [George W. Bush] is the president-elect."

Sorry, Reed. Gore lost because Bush received more legally cast votes in Florida than he did. All the Supreme Court did was to act to prevent Gore from manufacturing the votes he needed to surpass the number of legal votes for Bush, thereby violating the voting rights of other American voters.

The most amusing – or alarming – part of the Hundt interview was his continued (to the point of obsession) use of the phrase "the progressive agenda." So, what is the "progressive agenda"? Simply put, it’s the welfare state agenda – the crib to crypt security agenda.

The word "progressive" has been consciously chosen because it sounds better than the more accurate term: socialist.

Just listen to zealots like Reed Hundt and think about how close we came.

Pundits are bubbling about how statesmanlike Gore was in his concession speech. And they’re speculating on his chances as the presidential candidate in 2004.

Well, it ain’t gonna happen.

The first trial balloon in the Hillary 2004 presidential campaign was launched by none other than Judith Hope, the chairwoman of the New York Democratic Party. According to the

I’m telling you, folks, she’s in. The Democrats know she’s in, she knows she’s in. You say that she’s promised to serve her entire six years in New York? Wake up, damn it! She’s a liar! Haven’t you been watching her for the past eight years? The woman will look you straight in the face and lie – under oath or not – doesn’t matter. She lies if it suits her needs.

Right now Hillary MUST continue to dance with who brung her, the New York voters who put her in the Senate. If she stood up now and said "Well, maybe," her true motivation for entering the Senate race would be obvious. Hell, even Palm Beach County voters would be able to figure that one out!

Here’s how it’s going to play out over the next few years:

First, every once in a while some top Democrat will make a statement about how much America, and the Democrat Party, needs Hillary in 2004. Gradually they will drop dark hints that the party is doomed in 2004 if Hillary doesn’t agree to run. It will be her patriotic duty to give to the entire country the great leadership she is providing for the people of New York in the U.S. Senate.

About 18 months before the 2004 election Hillary will put the same tactics into play that her husband used in Arkansas. He, too, had promised to serve his entire term as governor of Arkansas, a promise he broke.

Hillary will announce that she is going to go on a "listening tour" of New York. You remember listening tours, don’t you? That’s what her so-called husband did when he made the decision to back out of his promise. It’s the same ploy Hillary used to see if she should run for Senate in the first place.

This listening tour will be to see if the people of New York want her to run for the presidency. As with her previous New York listening tour, the crowds will be very carefully picked and controlled. Media access will be limited. No open press conferences and only carefully controlled one-on-one interviews.

Finally, Hillary will announce that the people of New York have made it clear that they want her to run. They want her to take her incredible compassion, caring and leadership ability to the White House so that the entire country can share in the blessings that have been showered on the Empire State by her mere presence.

We hear this morning that Congress is going to establish a voter-fraud task force. It’s being put together by House Speaker Dennis Hastert to investigate allegations of voter fraud in this year’s elections.

This is not good news for Democrats, who will do everything they can to quietly sabotage any effort at reining in such voter fraud as found in last month’s election. For example:

In Madison, Wis., a homeless shelter with 20 beds, where nearly 200 people voted. In Wisconsin all you have to do is show up on Election Day and say you just moved and into the voting booth you go!

There were some predominantly Democratic precincts in Texas where 125 percent of the registered voters cast ballots.

In Baltimore, Chicago and Los Angeles there were busloads of voters who were taken from precinct to precinct to vote in place of registered voters who had either moved or who had never voted before. No ID required.

In Maryland, it’s illegal to ask voters for identification. They claim that this "intimidates" the voters. So, Maryland Republican national committeewoman Ellen Sauerbrey says that they have evidence that people were – as in Chicago and Los Angeles – taken from polling place to polling place to vote.

And you did know that there is no proof of citizenship needed to register to vote, don’t you?

The Democratic Party is the party of voter fraud. Chicago in 1960. California, Maryland, Illinois and Florida in 2000. The Democratic Party will fight these investigations into voter fraud. And we’ll be here to bring you the play-by-play.
