The poll, conducted Wednesday and Thursday by FOX News/Opinion Dynamics, also found 56 percent said Al Gore should concede the presidential election.
Sixty percent of the 900 registered voters surveyed had a favorable opinion of Bush; 46 percent thought highly of the vice president. Bush's ratings went up, while Gore's dropped from a pre-election poll, Fox said.
Bush's running mate, Dick Cheney, trumped both of them, with 64 percent of respondents saying they had a favorable opinion of him. Cheney recovered quickly from a slight heart attack suffered after the election and has been highly visible this week running transition planning from Washington.
"Fifty-six percent said they believe Bush won the election, while 25 percent said Gore did and 19 percent were unsure," Fox reported. "Worse news for Gore: 43 percent said his campaign has been the more negative one since Election Day, while just 26 percent said Bush's has been negative."
And most want the uncertainty to end quickly – 59 percent said they are just sick and tired of the whole ordeal.
