As I was formulating an answer, something occurred to me. There has not been one call from anyone suggesting that the appointments of Colin Powell as secretary of state and Condi Rice as Bush’s national security adviser were race-based.
I believe that there’s universal acceptance of these two individuals in the Bush Cabinet because they are clearly qualified. They got their jobs on merit – not as part of a glorified, politically correct presidential affirmative action program.
Maybe this is what frightens Jesse Jackson and his cronies so much. Merit-based appointments to the Bush Cabinet. A merit-based world wouldn’t be a friendly place for Rev. Jesse.
Who the hell are these people on the Federal Reserve and just why do they have the power to send the market down like they did yesterday? Do we vote for any of these people?
Nasdaq has lost one-half of its value in the last 16 months, and it’s down almost 38 percent this year.
And what about Clinton’s assault on Microsoft? I guess he showed them, didn’t he? Microsoft stock is down 62 percent this year. The Microsoft lawsuit is probably the
Being a patriot online means you're spreading hate, according to the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
The Center just published "Digital Hate 2001," a compilation of over 3,000 "hate sites" on the Internet. Usually the list includes Web sites belonging to white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and others who promote violence. But this year it includes singer-songwriter Steve Vaus, who sells his patriotic music on his Web site. It also includes the Free Congress Foundation, a conservative think tank, and Women Against Gun Control.
So if you stand up for your country, support Americans' right to own and use firearms, or think conservatively, you're every bit as evil as the Nazis Simon Wiesenthal became famous for hunting.
It might be best to consult this list of "hate sites" the next time our Congress starts ginning up talk about "hate crimes" legislation.
Remember, we’re talking about criminalizing thought here. Once the legislation is on the books it will be easy to expand the definition until we reach the point that an expression of support for our Second Amendment could be considered a hate crime.
The left is looking for a way to criminalize its ideological opposition. The Simon Wiesenthal Center seems to be a part of that effort.
In case you hadn't noticed, Bill Clinton and his staff are working furiously to put the finishing touches on his legacy – a flurry of executive orders and new regulations that will add nearly 30,000 pages to the federal registry.
The new regs cover the environment, social engineering, and big business. All of these new laws will mean more government programs and more unnecessary government workers. The Imperial Federal Government will want more of your tax money. Businesses will feel the pinch, too, when they spend money to comply with these new regulations.
Yes, that's Bill Clinton's real legacy. Ruling by executive order, flouting the Constitution, increasing the size and intrusiveness of government, taking more of your hard-earned money away from you and giving it to people who didn't earn it. He's been a good little Democrat, hasn't he?
Yeah, I’m giving Sean Hannity first billing because he won the bet. Besides, he’s so damned cute!
I bet Gore would win. He bet Bush. He won. Now I have to fly Sean and his wife to Atlanta for dinner!
We’ve come up with a plan. We’re going to do a benefit dinner – around $100 a plate, I suspect — to benefit the Boy Scouts of America! Sean and I will donate one-half of the proceeds to a Boy Scout troop in our respective areas.
We’re probably looking at some Saturday night in late January for the dinner. There’s a lot of planning to do – finding a place, for instance. The full details will be announced later.
The Boy Scouts are under attack by the compassionate left. Hopefully we can raise some money to show our support for this honorable, worthy organization.
