White House Legislative Affairs Director: Washington Post 'Biased'

President Donald Trump’s criticism of The Washington Post is because The Post is biased, White House legislative affairs director Marc Short said Thursday.

"I think The Washington Post certainly has an agenda, and they’ve been pretty biased in pursuing that agenda for quite some time, so I think he’s making a very obvious case that he’s not going to get a fair deal from The Washington Post in coverage," Short said in an interview with Stuart Varney on Fox Business.

Trump slammed The Post in a tweet Thursday, calling a headline "phony" and "typically bad reporting."

The president has taken multiple swings at The Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, which also has been a target of Trump’s.

The president is bashing Amazon because he dislikes The Post, said Jill Abramson, the former New York Times executive editor.
