President Donald Trump on Tuesday will propose major budget cuts to Medicaid, food stamps and federal aid, The Washington Post reports.
The budget will include $800 billion in Medicaid cuts over the next 10 years, which, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will halt Medicaid benefits for close to 10 million people over the next decade.
Trump’s budget also reportedly includes a massive cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, of at least 25 percent over the next 10 years and also contains $1.6 billion in funding for Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
As part of the plan, the White House will also give states more flexibility to impose work requirements for people in different kinds of anti-poverty programs, according to the report.
