Republican Corey Stewart, who just narrowly lost the GOP primary for Virginia governor, is eyeing a possible challenge to Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., in 2018, The Washington Post reported.
Polls had shown Stewart, a supporter of President Donald Trump, trailing former GOP National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie by double digits in the Republican primary for governor, according to the Post. But he came within a little more than 1 percent of upsetting Gillespie, The Hill noted.
Now, he's giving some thought to seeking Kaine's job.
"Kaine is vulnerable," said Stewart. "I've got to take a breather and take stock."
