President Donald Trump's failure to staff key positions is making the challenges facing his administration even worse, writes The Weekly Standard's Michael Warren.
"There are a lot of problems plaguing the Trump administration and hampering the White House from completing its agenda," Warren writes in the conservative publication.
"But one under appreciated disadvantage for Trump is that with 150 days after his inauguration, his administration remains severely understaffed, particularly in top spots at departments and agencies, as well as in key offices in the White House."
Warren says a "constant complaint" he hears from his White House sources is the empty positions in the West Wing "make the day-to-day operations of governing difficult."
That's compounded by the vacancies among senior-level positions at places like the state department, he adds.
