Some seven hours after sending out a series of tweets about the Republican victories in special elections for House seats, President Donald Trump tweeted again, saying the Democratic strategy of opposing him is not working.
Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel beat Democrat Jon Ossoff in the special election in suburban Atlanta on Tuesday by 52 percent to 48 percent in what is usually a much more solid GOP district.
Meanwhile, in another special election in South Carolina, Republican Ralph Norman beat Democrat Archie Parnell, also by 52 percent to 48 percent, which was much closer than expected as the GOP won the congressional race last November by 21 percentage points and Trump won the district by 18, Politico reported.
In his initial tweet after the victories, Trump sent congratulations to the Republican candidates and mocked Democrats by pointing out that they lost in all five efforts in special elections to defeat the GOP.
